Our focus areas and goals for sustainability

Five boxes with sustainability goals

Planet

We work to reduce our climate impact through the use of renewable energy, energy efficiency measures, reduced waste, and a fully electric vehicle fleet, in line with our validated climate targets. Sustainable product design is also a central part of our long-term sustainability efforts.

Climate targets under Science Based Targets

HMS has made a commitment confirming our intention to set a science-based target in line with the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5 °C.

As a company, we can offer a lot of sustainability gains for our customers as they can use our products to reduce service trips and optimize energy use.

But we can also do a lot in our own operations to reduce our carbon footprint.”

How HMS works with high-emission industries such as Oil & Gas

We’re committed to Science Based Targets. We will reduce our own CO₂ emissions, and help customers do the same to reach zero emissions by 2050 at the latest.

We expect new investments in Oil & Gas to decline as of 2030. In the meantime, we will help customers in Oil & Gas with industrial connectivity, remote access, process control etc. to enable more reliable and safe production.

Respect for human rights and equality is central to our values. As part of this commitment, HMS intends to provide a living wage to employees.

Our Code of conduct is grounded in principles from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

We are committed to ensuring that our products are disposed of in an environmentally sound manner. The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is a European regulation aimed at reducing electronic waste and promoting the recycling and proper disposal of electronic products.
