Certified PROFIBUS System Designer

Classroom On-site
30 Oct 2024 - 30 Oct 2024
Glasgow,  United Kingdom
An internationally accredited course covering the optimal design of PROFIBUS automation and control systems.

Who should attend the course?

This course provides a top-down approach to designing a modern automation and control system and helps managers and designers to make the correct decisions from the project start.

The course is applicable to all sectors of industry from factory automation to process control. Examples and case-studies used on the course are taken from a wide range of industries including manufacturing, process plant water-treatment, materials handling, and automated part sorting, storage and retrieval.

The course is suitable for anyone who is working at a technical design level in automation and control systems. Because this is an intensive course, we require attendees to be qualified up to Certified PROFIBUS Installer standard.

However, don't worry if you are not qualified to this level: we always run the installer course immediately before the system designer course so you can take both in the same week.

What will I learn on the course?

  • General system design requirements
  • PROFIBUS network layout and design and the benefits of different topologies
  • PROFIBUS profiles
  • Hazardous areas and the use of FISCO calculations
  • High availability systems and redundancy
  • Fibre optic design considerations
  • Safety-related systems
  • Modern solutions for network monitoring
  • Documentation and drawing standards
